Becoming a member

Hidden Valley Conservation club membership is open to all ladies and gentlemen who are in posession of a valid BC hunting license.  The club is located on Vancouver Island and most of our members also live here. We do have a growing membership from the lower mainland and organise events and Old Country Shoot times taking into account ferry travel for these members.

To join simply fill in the application form on the website. New members are required to pay the initial fee, administration fee and purchase a minimum of $500 worth of hunting in the first year.  For subsequent years, the administration fee and a minimum purchase of $250 hunting is required.

Along with your application form we like to know a little about you.  Please send an email to the President or Treasurer with an introduction.  Things we like to know are: your memberships in other hunting or shooting clubs, if your active in field trialing, do you know any current or former members, or if you're an experienced/inexperienced hunter or even what kind of dog you have.

You don't have to know a member, be in any clubs or even have a dog to join.  The club has less than 100 members; with our hunting, work parties and social events we get to know each other eventually.

After you send your application in you may get a call or email from the Treasurer/President to clarify something on your application or help get you started.   Once you are a member you will be added to our email list (used for news and updates). You will also be issued an account and password for the website.  The private parts of the website have detailed information that you will need once you are a member.

If you don't know anyone in the club we can often pair you up with an existing member for, say, your first duck hunt if you like.  This has led to some great friendships over the years.

So if hunting pheasants and chukars an a beautiful 300 acre farm with your dog, duck hunting on private land in a comfortable blind or goose hunting on private farms on Vancouver Island sounds like something you like to do then sign up.  We're glad we did.
